More good ideas / Więcej dobrych pomysłów

I wanted to change somehow the sky. First I tried embroidering with white thread but it didn't work. So I decided to use my "magic clouds" - silk caps. Now it is almost invisible, like a white foggy clouds. But it adds this white touch and will be even better after washing. Koniecznie chciałam zmienić jakoś to niebo. So I changed also the second part of the fence, to make all the upper part lighter. Zmieniłam też drugą część ogrodzenia, żeby ta górna część stała się lżejsza. But the best part came when one of my dear readers, Anna, asked if it is too late to add the tree. This got me thinking... Where to add the tree and what for? Suddenly I knew - behind the fence! What a great idea and what a pity it wasn

Gold idea / Złoty pomysł

Image
You see it? I've added golden straws to the hen house's roof. I'm very proud of myself because now it really looks less dull (mining it is in the centre). Widzicie to? Dodałam złote słomki do dachu kurnika. Added also some new flowers. It is very difficult to find the proper colour for the flowers to make this piece more vibrant. But there's some hope in amber beads I'm going to add too. As for now it looks like this: Dodałam też kilka kwiatków. A póki co, to wygląda tak: I also started quilting on the market. Oh my, this is going to be a loooong process. And it's hard to see a difference. Well, it is just a sky... Zaczęłam też pikować ryneczek. O rany, to będzie długi proces. I ciężko zauważyć różnicę. No cóż, na razie to tylk

Working in the hen house / Praca w kurniku

Image
The weather is hot so the hen house gives you a nice shadow. Here are some new additions: fresh grass Gorąco, więc kurnik daje miły cień. Oto najnowsze dodatki: świeża trawa decorated gate dekoracja bramy more elaborated border (in reality it's not so blue) podrasowana rama (zdjęcie zbyt niebieskie) and a brand new rooster :) i całkiem nowy kogut :) Here is the latest look in a whole: A tak to wygląda w całości na dziś: As for the market - I've added the last applique pieces before the quilting (will add some more during or after quilting process).

Image
Three years ago, inspired by the picture above, I made a quilt - "Feeding hens". And as much as I liked the picture I didn't like my work. It is dull and sad. But it was a lot of work anyway. So now I came to the idea that I can try to improve it. At least I'm more experienced in hens and roosters , right? I didn't know when to start so I'm just playing with all ideas which come to my mind. The first thing I changed was the fence. The old one was like this: Stary był taki: And

Growing up / Rośnie

Image
It seems that my market is going to be bigger than I planned. Oh well, it happens. I keep adding fresh vegetables and just looking when it is enough. Not yet :) Wszystko wskazuje na to, że mój rynek będzie większy niż planowałam. No cóż, zdarza się.

More goodies / Coraz więcej dobrych rzeczy

Image
As you can see, my market is growing up. The process is very nice but a bit slow. And I'm constantly looking through my resources for ideas and inspirations. Today I looked through my all time favorite "Women of Taste" - A Collaboration Celebrating Quilt Artists and Chefs. It is an old book (I bought it 10 years ago) but always fresh and inspiring. And every time I look through it I discover new things. Today's discovery was that foreword for it was written by... Julia Child. As I'm finishing her "My life in France" (and I love it) it was like "oh, so I knew her before too" :) Jak widzicie, mój ryneczek się rozwija. No i cały czas przeglądam obrazki/literaturę "na temat" w poszukiwaniu inspiracji i pomysłów. Dzisiaj zajrzałam do mojej ulubionej książki "Women of Taste" . To w zasadzie rodzaj katalogu (była taka wystawa) dokumentującego twórczą współpracę artystek szyjących i go

More booths / Więcej kramów

The best thing in making your own market is that you don't have to care for the seasons. Everything goes together - apples, oranges and strawberries too. Just ask the masters - Vincenzo Campi or Pieter Aertsen . The last one painted even my portrait :) Ten ostatni nawet namalował mój portret :)

My market / Mój rynek

The very first vegetables and fruit arrived at my market. And the first booth is almost done :) Pierwsze warzywa i owoce już na mój rynek dotarły. I pierwsze stoisko jest już prawie gotowe :)
