Great minds... / Wspólnota myśli

I was just about to write a big post about inspirations and influences in my works when I visited Cathy's Potter Jotter blog and saw the above. Some time ago Cathy said that if her medium was fabric she would sew my quilts and if I was ceramist I would make her pottery. It also turned out that our interests are pretty the same - textile art, Medieval art, gardens, botanical art. We read same books or very similar. And yes, we've never met in person. But I'm afraid she was deeply right :)
Właśnie miałam napisać duży post o inspiracjach i wpływach w moich pracach, kiedy zajrzałam do blogu Cathy Potter Jotter i zobaczyłam to co powyżej. Jakiś czas temu Cathy powiedziała, że gdybyśmy zamieniły się mediami to ona szyłaby  moje patchworki, a ja lepiłabym jej ceramikę. Okazało się też, że mamy takie same zainteresowania - tkanina artystyczna, sztuka średniowieczna, ogrody, ilustracje botaniczne. Czytamy te same (albo bardzo podobne) książki. I nigdy nie spotkałyśmy się osobiście. Obawiam się jednak, że miała rację :)
It seems that we worked on our houses simultaneously not knowing about it. But we don't have to "know" because we KNOW anyway :)
Wygląda na to, że pracowałyśmy nad swoimi domkami jednocześnie, nic o tym nie wiedząc. Ale nie musimy "wiedzieć" bo i tak WIEMY :)

I told you about my love for laces before ( HERE ). Maybe I wasn't clear, but in fact I see laces everywhere. Wspominałam już wcześniej o mojej miłości do koronek (choćby TU ). Nie wiem jednak, czy macie świadomość, że ja je widzę wszędzie. This artwork from 2008, named "My Way" is the first one where I decided to show it off. Jak widzicie, moje koronki to taka kombinacja wzorów koronkowych z roślinnymi. I collect botanical books even longer than lace books. And I use them for inspirations pretty often. The hen in troubles

Sometimes things are simply overwhelming... I can only guess that keeping balance for this little hen is quite a challenge. But she keeps her face straight. The amount of dishes is truly impressive. To dive or not to dive? Maybe just looking will do the job? But the water seems so joyful and friendly... So maybe, just maybe, all the troubles will turn out to be manageable? Courage, little hen!

Old Garden collection / Ogrodowa kolekcja

Do you remember my mysterious "Old Garden" ? Now I call it finished! Next time when I start something like this, please remind me that it is not the fastest kind of work :) Pamiętacie mój tajemniczy "Stary Ogród" ? Uważam go za skończony! A następnym razem, jak się wezmę za coś takiego, przypomnijcie mi proszę, że to nie jest ekspresowa robótka :) But I have to confess - I love it! And I'm really glad that I made it. Ale przyznaję - uwielbiam go! I bardzo się cieszę, że zrobiłam coś takiego. I'm going to frame it professionally and put on a honorable place on the wall. With the pieces like this it is impossible to sell it - there's no money I would prefer to keep instead of this magical garden. It's not just the matter of the amount of time spent on this. It is more about my thoughts, some ideas and their execution, it is so much "me". Mam zamiar dać go do oprawy, a potem powiesić na honorowym miejscu. Takie rzeczy nie nada
