Beet beat / Botwinka raz jeszcze

Some months ago my fellow artist Ania said, that she liked my "Beet soup" very much and that (as the old one is gone already) I should make another one. Great idea - we have this Polish special for summer, beet soup with more cream and yoghurt, served cool. Yummy! No wonder, just look at the ingredients, directly from the green market:
And here is my beginning:
A to mój początek:
To make you sure that I didn't miss anything :)
Sprawdźcie, czy o czymś nie zapomniałam :)
Somehow, quilting in spirals was my first choice, just like in the old one. It has to be the matter of cooking (and stirring) real soups, I guess.
To pewnie kwestia gotowania (i mieszania) prawdziwych zup.
The sage green gingham stripe seemed obvious addition for the full summer table feeling.
And here come the beets:
Nadchodzą buraki:
It may not be clear from my pictures, but the beets are the most precious additions - they are scraps of the highest quality silks. Yes, I love to mix things this way :)
Some green leaves and voila - to the binding:
Jeszcze trochę zielonych listków i - wykańczamy:
Now it's just to add some spices (read: beads), but I'm not that fast - next post, dear :)

I jeszcze spełniłaś moją prośbę.

Oh - it's beautiful - as usual!! The colours are so rich and striking. I love it. Not sure I would really love beat soup though, but I will give it a try one day - you can make me some if I ever get to Poland! xCathy

I love seeing what's inspired your quilt colors. That photo of the vegetables is stunning!
