My city - Lodz / Moje miasto Łódź

So, the artwork I showed in my last post is exactly what I see outside my window. No więc praca, którą pokazałam w poprzednim poście   to po prostu mój widok z okna.  I guess you may not be aware of the fact that once upon a time Lodz was a textile capitol of Poland. Now it's a history but with many visual proofs - old factories (or just the walls), palaces and villas of their owners, remnants of high quality industrial developments from XIX century. All of them very inspirational. Remember the small piece I used to demonstrate how to frame my works? This is just a small piec

November Garden / Listopadowy Ogród

Here it is what I have on my desktop from some time now. Beautiful Alhambra Gardens taken by my dear friend, Agnieszka. I guess it inspired me subconsciously. And if you wonder if I draw my ideas - yes, sometimes I do: To zdjęcie mam na swoim pulpicie już od dłuższego czasu. Przedstawia przepiękne ogrody Alhambry obfotografowane przez moją bliską przyjaciółkę, Agnieszkę. Myślę, że musiał mnie ten widok podświadomie zainspirować. I jeśli zastanawiacie się, czy rysuję najpierw swoje projekty to owszem, czasem rysuję: Not a big drawing skills, ha? But that's the whole idea. When I transformed this idea to fabric, another one popped - to repeat the same lines in grey Kiedy przeniosłam ją na tkaninę, pojawiła się nowa - żeby powtórzyć te linie w szarości and white i bieli All the fabrics are silks, hence the shining and difficulties with taking the picture. But you can see the whole concept. Now to t

How to frame textile artwork? / Jak oprawiać tkaninę?

So the other Perfume is ready. And this is another "ready to frame" piece which brings the question "how to frame it?". For me, framing is a perfect solution for small pieces. I like them mounted on passepartout or some other decorative sturdy cartoon. As I just went through one of the older small pieces of mine, I thought it may be good to show you how do I mount it. No to mamy drugie Perfumy. The piece is 17 x 26 cm (with irregular shape!) and passepartout is slightly bigger - 21 x 30 cm. I put the artwork on it to find the proper position: Tkanina ma 17 x 26 cm (i troszkę nieregularny kształt!),
