Comfort soup / Jesienna zupa

Image
What's better for gloomy autumnal days than a comfort soup? That's why I made one. And yes, I love mushroom soup :) Maybe it isn't an exact recipe but you get a taste. I really surprised myself deciding on applique the ingredients using classic needle turn method. Haven't done it for a long time but didn't forget :) And added some hand quilting too: Zaskoczyłam samą siebie, decydując się na klasyczną aplikację wszystkich składników. I dodałam też trochę ręcznego pikowania: Isn't it a great idea to keep your comfort soup always handy and not having to really cook it? Not to mention the warmth of this

Come for the soup! / Chodźcie na zupę!

After the long weekend spent in my garden the beet soup is finished! Po długim weekendzie spędzonym w moim małym ogródku, botwinka skończona! Here is how it looks in a whole: Tak to wygląda w całości: And here is the real soup :)   A tu prawdziwa zupa :) Not so far away, right? Całkiem blisko, prawda? I'm going to enter it into Food Stories monthly contest . But now I'm taking part in another contest, with my oldie but goodie Sunflowers: Zgłoszę ją do comiesięcznego konkursu na Food Stories . Ale na razie biorę udział w innym konkursie, z moimi starymi, poczciwymi Słonecznikami: If you want me to win 1 million $, please vote HERE :) And spread the word, of course. Thanks in advance! Jeżeli chcecie, żebym wygrała milion dolarów, głosujcie TUTAJ , proszę :) I oczywiście, podajcie dalej. Z góry dziękuję!

Beet beat / Botwinka raz jeszcze

Some months ago my fellow artist Ania said, that she liked my "Beet soup" very much and that (as the old one is gone already) I should make another one. Great idea - we have this Polish special for summer, beet soup with more cream and yoghurt, served cool. Yummy! No wonder, just look at the ingredients, directly from the green market: Kilka miesięcy temu, koleżanka artystka Ania powiedziała, że bardzo lubiła moją "Botwinkę" i że koniecznie powinnam (tamta już dawno poszła w świat) uszyć jescze jedną. Bardzo dobry pomysł - w końcu lato to czas chłodników! No to na rynek po składniki. And here is my beginning: A to mój początek: To make you sure that I didn't miss anything :) Sprawdźcie, czy o czymś nie zapomniałam :) Somehow, quilting in spirals was my first choice, just like in the old one. It has to be the matter of cooking (and stirring) real soups, I guess.

So the new project is... / A więc nowy pomysł to...

... yes, you guessed it - potato soup! It's funny because while working on my hen I added a comment to Monotema's post about the potato soup. And she gave me the whole list of German recipes for this soup. I started to read them and thinking about all the ways you can make this soup and finally decided to sew it :) ... tak, zgadliście - kartoflanka! The best potato soup I ate in Germany some years ago. And since then I keep trying to reconstruct this taste. Onion, carrot, parsley's root, garlic, nutmeg - these are the must. But whatever you add - potatos rules! Najlepszą kartoflankę jadłam kilka lat temu w Niemczech. I od tego czasu staram się zrekonstruować
