The Textile Cuisine

I was just about to write a big post about inspirations and influences in my works when I visited Cathy's Potter Jotter blog and saw the above. Some time ago Cathy said that if her medium was fabric she would sew my quilts and if I was ceramist I would make her pottery. It also turned out that our interests are pretty the same - textile art, Medieval art, gardens, botanical art. We read same books or very similar. And yes, we've never met in person. But I'm afraid she was deeply right :) Właśnie miałam napisać duży post o inspiracjach i wpływach w moich pracach, kiedy zajrzałam do blogu Cathy Potter Jotter i zobaczyłam to co powyżej. Jakiś czas temu Cathy powiedziała, że gdybyśmy zamieniły się mediami to ona szyłaby  moje patchworki, a ja lepiłabym jej ceramikę. Okazało się też, że mamy takie same zainteresowania - tkanina artystyczna, sztuka średniowieczna, ogrody, ilustracje botaniczne. Czytamy te same (albo bardzo podobne) książki. ... is global. And in fact, this is the second "Global Village". The first one was this: ... jest globalna. Tak naprawdę, to to jest druga moja wieś. Pierwsza była ta: Many, many years ago, when I was starting in "quilting business" (read: learning about quilts, quilt history and quilt makers) I joined  a few discussion online groups. Those were the days... I met lots of great people (some of them became friends in real life too) and learned a lot. Thanks to American quilters I discovered the best fabric shops. And a lot of quilters has sent me their scraps. Thanks to internet we stayed connected on everyday basis. This first "Global Village" is the exact picture of this time - I felt like living in a small village, knowing every neibourgh, sewing with their fabrics. I know, last post was one moth ago. Oh well... But I have a good excuse - homeworks (or even houseworks). Do you remember this old post when I declared my will to participate in the "Home Is Where The Quilt Is" project? Here you see my entry :)  Wiem, ostatnia notka była miesiąc temu. No cóż... Ale mam dobre usprawiedliwienie - prace domowe (czy raczej domkowe). Pamiętacie ten stary post , w którym zapowiadałam chęć wzięcia udziału w projekcie "Home Is Where The Quilt Is" ? Oto mój domek :) I titled it "Real Homes Wear Quilts" and I know it arrived safe and sound. I also sent my entry for another contest (accepted!) but can't show it publicly yet. And working on this house resulted in some side effects :) Zatytułowałam go "Real Homes Wear Quilts" i wiem już, że bezpiecznie dotarł na miejsce. Udało mi się też wziąć udział w jeszcze jednym konkursie (i przeszłam!), ale tego nie mogę na razie pokazać. A praca nad tym domkiem ma pewne
