The Textile Cuisine

Summer is finished and it was a good one, wasn't it? Warm, sunny and so rich with colors and tastes. I had to capture its fading away: Lato się skończyło, a piękne było wyjątkowo, prawda? Ciepłe, słoneczne i takie bogate w kolory i smaki. Bardzo chciałam uchwycić ten  moment jego powlnego rozpływania się: I wanted to make a small, frame-able piece just to say "good bye!" to Summer. But it turned a bit bigger (32 x 44 cm) so I better add a hanging sleeve on the back because it is big enough to hang on the wall on its own. It will be available for sale as soon as I add this sleeve - which means it may take ages :) As we are heading to Autumn it is time for some changes in the wardrobe, right? To miała być taka mała "oprawialna" praca, takie "pa, pa!" dla lata. A wyszła ciut większa (32 x 44 cm) i chyba powinnam przyszyć z tyłu tunel do samodzielnego wiszenia. Więc praca będzie na sprzedaż jak tylko ten tunel - w praktyce może oznaczać to wieki :)

... or even three of them :) ... a nawet trzy :) Almost the same, yet different. Niby takie same, a jednak różne. So they will be framed differently. Dlatego dostaną różne ramki. But same leaves - golden. Ale takie same listki - złote. And different flowers - pink, blue and green. Natomiast różne kwiatki - różowe, niebieskie i zielone. And now we can patiently wait for the real spring :) No i teraz możemy sobie cierpliwie czekać na prawdziwą wiosnę :)

This morning, while working on Etsy, I went through tons of images of blueberries . I'm a fruit gal, but blueberries are one of my most loved. And before I even noticed I was playing with my beads thinking about blueberry ideas. Dziś rano, pracując na Etsy, obejrzałam chyba tonę jagodowych rzeczy. Ja w ogóle jestem owocowa, ale jagody chyba kocham najbardziej. No i ani się obejrzałam, a już garść koralików uruchomiła we mnie różne jagodowe pomysły. This one with cream stayed a bit longer with me :) Ten ze śmietaną został ze mną na dłużej :) But, as we all know, the hardest part with blueberries is to collect them. To fullfil even medium jar takes some time. So what is the power of art if not to make our lives better? How about the tree of blueberries? Wszyscy wiemy, że najgorsze w jagodach jest ich zbieranie. Nawet średni słoiczek napełnia się godzinami. No ale cóż nam po sile sztuki, jeżeli nie czyni naszego życia lepszym? To może jagodowe drzewo? Now you see wha

One of my etsy's friends, Grace , gave me the great idea of incorporating my trees into bags. I loved this idea and here's the result. Jedna z moich etsowych koleżanek, Gracjana , podsunęła mi świetny pomysł, żeby robić moje okrągłe drzewka w formie torebek. Bardzo mi się on spodobał i oto efekt. More pictures you can see in my shop . Here I want to talk about something else. The ideas of bags were flying around my head from some time now. Last year was a great exhibition in Cracow totally devoted to bags. Unfortunately I couldn't see it but now I bought myself a catalog: Więcej zdjęć możecie zobaczyć w moim sklepie . A tutaj chciałabym opowiedzieć o czymś całkiem innym. Pomysły na torby chodziły mi po głowie już od dłuższego czasu. W ubiegłym roku była piękna torebkowa wystawa w Krakowie. Niestety, nie udało mi się jej obejrzeć, ale teraz kupiłam sobie jej katalog: Clever, isn't it? But it's not only a form, the content is great too: Sprytny, prawda? Ale świet

Oh no, I'm not done with summer yet :( But there has to be something in the air, because the idea of this little curtain just came to my mind bright and clear. No nie, ja jeszcze z latem nie skończyłam :( Ale coś musi być w powietrzu, skoro pomysł na taką zasłonkę pojawił mi się wyjątkowo jasno i wyraźnie..    I think it is rather charming (if I say so myself) so I wanted to make another one immediately :) Uważam, że jest urocza (jeśli sama mogę tak powiedzieć), więc od razu chciałam zrobić następną :) Both of them are on etsy now and I'm working on another one :) When you visit my shop you may notice another news - bracelets, but I will tell you more about them in separate post. This is the 100th item in my shop ! Hope, she will bring some golden eggs...:) To setny przedmiot w moim sklepie ! Playing with wires is somehow fascinating for me. I don't know where it came from but it isn't new. Do you remeber the tress from last year? Fascynują mnie te druty. Nie wiem, skąd ja to mam, ale to stara sprawa. Pamiętacie drzewa z ubiegłego roku?  And even before I made some jewelry but don't have any picture at hand now. And no, Cathy, my wires don't make any harm to my fingers. Even no harm to my nails :) A wcześniej robiłam też rodzaj biżuterii, tylko nie mam pod ręką żadnych zdjęć. I wcale mi to nie kaleczy palców. Ani nawet paznokci :)   Copper and brass are very friendly to me. Of course they have to be combined with textiles, that's the most fun. As you can see, I'm making something new wire wise :) I hope to show it to you pretty soon! Miedź i mosiądz są bardzo przyjazne. Ale oczywiście do tego musi być tkanina, wtedy jest największa zabawa. Jak widzicie, robię coś nowego w drutowym sensie :) I mam nadzieję wkrótce Wam to pokazać!
