I know that I'm going backward - all the trees are loosing their leaves and mine are getting new ones :) That's the power of creation, it is your world based on your rules. Some months ago, while working on my "Kartoffelsuppe" , I learned from Racaire that in Austria potatoes are called "Erdapfel" - apples of the earth. I knew immediately that I will use this knowledge creatively. At first I wanted to make two trees - apple tree and potato tree as a mirror picture underground. But then came another bit of linguistic knowledge - in French tomatoes are called "pommes d'amour" (apples of love). And this makes a composition :) Parę miesięcy temu, gdy szyłam "Kartoffelsuppe" , dowiedziałam się od Racaire , że w Austrii ziemniaki nazywane są "Erdapfel" - ziemnymi jabłkami. Od razu wiedziałam, że wykorzystam tę świeżo pozyskaną wiedzę w swojej twórczości. Najpierw chciałam zrobić po prostu dwa drzewa - jabłkowe i ziemniaczne jako podziemne, lustrzane odbicie. Years ago I made a piece about the lettuce titled "The queen of the table". Now, although the piece is gone, the lettuce still rules. So I was very happy when, while reading Castelvetro's book, I found this shortest recipe for a good salad - well salted with a drop of vinegar and a lot of olive oil. And I liked this Italian rhyme so much that I decided to make a piece with it. Kilka lat temu uszyłam pracę pod tym tytułem z sałatą w roli głównej. Dzisiaj, choć tej pracy już nie mam, sałata nadal rządzi. Dlatego bardzo się ucieszyłam kiedy, czytając Castelvetro , znalazłam ten najkrótszy przepis na dobrą sałatę - dużo soli, kropla octu i dużo oliwy. A włoska wersja tego przepisu zachwyciła mnie do tego stopnia, że postanowiłam użyć jej w sałatowej makatce. I don't know if you are familiar with They Draw and Cook project, but I loooove it. The first layer of veggies on my stalk is done. Now it is time for the smaller ones to fill the gaps. Pierwsza warstwa warzywek na moim straganie gotowa. Unfortunately my market had to rest for a moment because I was busy with motherhood :) Niestety, rynek musiał sobie przez chwilę odpocząć ponieważ pochłonęło mnie macierzyństwo :) And a birch :) I brzoza :) But now I'm back in the saddle :) Ale już do niego wracam :)
