Fine dining in the fisherman's kitchen

Fancy a fish dish? You're welcome:
The idea for fisherman's kitchen portrait arose long ago. It was percolating slowly on the back burner and now the time has come to express it in fabrics. I wanted it rather dark, in tones of browns and blues. Hand dyed antique linen and lace (aka fishing net) were the starting point setting the mood for the whole piece.
Smoked fish and the basket of fishes were the obvious choices as well as the big pot with fish soup. I wasn't sure what window view I want but the scraps just lined up for the big sky and the sea.
So what to put on the table?
At first I wanted simple silver plates but the addition of fishes turned it into splendind feast.
That's how we ended up on the fine dining in this humble fisherman's kitchen.
I love making kitchen portraits. In the next post will show you more of them, the ones created through the time I was absent here. But of course I had to share my newest baby first, right? Bon appetit!

I told you about my love for laces before ( HERE ). Maybe I wasn't clear, but in fact I see laces everywhere. Wspominałam już wcześniej o mojej miłości do koronek (choćby TU ). The hen in troubles

Sometimes things are simply overwhelming... I can only guess that keeping balance for this little hen is quite a challenge. But she keeps her face straight. The amount of dishes is truly impressive. To dive or not to dive? Maybe just looking will do the job? But the water seems so joyful and friendly... So maybe, just maybe, all the troubles will turn out to be manageable? Courage, little hen!

Old Garden collection / Ogrodowa kolekcja

Do you remember my mysterious "Old Garden" ? Now I call it finished! Next time when I start something like this, please remind me that it is not the fastest kind of work :) Pamiętacie mój tajemniczy "Stary Ogród" ? Uważam go za skończony! A następnym razem, jak się wezmę za coś takiego, przypomnijcie mi proszę, że to nie jest ekspresowa robótka :) But I have to confess - I love it! And I'm really glad that I made it. Ale przyznaję - uwielbiam go! I bardzo się cieszę, że zrobiłam coś takiego. I'm going to frame it professionally and put on a honorable place on the wall. With the pieces like this it is impossible to sell it - there's no money I would prefer to keep instead of this magical garden. It's not just the matter of the amount of time spent on this.
