Landscapes in small sizes

Image
Some years ago I read an essay by Olga Tokarczuk on her relationship with trees. She was dreaming about the machine that would be able to recreate stories witnessed by old trees through their life. I immediately "saw" this kind of gramophone and the songs it could play. The many different small worlds rising and falling around the same tree for 200 or 600 years. It was fun to create all the variety of small landscapes, with little details here and there. I love to create landscapes in small formats and they are always more about emotions than the real views. Here are the most recent ones - "Golden fields" This one is framed and available HERE . And "Beyond my garden" - ready to frame, heavy embroidered beauty in tones of pink.

Poetry of climbing / Poetycka wspinaczka

Climb that Mountain Deep inside your Brain Your life will never be the same +poetreats ~ artreats   When I read this little haiku I knew I want to see it in fabric. What I saw exactly were the two different worlds, Proste przesłanie małego haiku o wspinaczce na tę wielką górę, którą mamy w swojej głowie natchnęło mnie do uszycia takiego małego obrazka. Wyobraziłam sobie dwa odmienne światy, one quiet and peaceful, a bit dull and boring and the other, peaceful too but with some more colors: jeden cichy, spokojny, troszkę nudny i mdły i drugi, też spokojny, ale bardziej kolorowy: And the idea that you can't see the other one without a bit of mental climbing I ta myśl, że nie możemy ich zobaczyć bez odrobiny umysłowej wspinaczki My personal "discovery" along the process was that it works both ways. Whether you are on the colorful side and long for some more subtle tones or just opposite, you've got to climb this little mountain in your

Kitchen landscapes / Kuchenne krajobrazy

Image
I don't know about your kitchens, but mine, at this time of a year is a jungle :) Very impressive, especially compared to the early spring: Nie wiem, jak Wasze kuchnie, ale moja o tej porze roku wygląda jak dżungla :) Robi wrażenie, prawda? Zwłaszcza w porównaniu z wczesną wiosną: No wonder that one day I decided to capture all the different landscapes I can see around on daily basis. That's how my new serie of "Kitchen Landscapes" was born. Nic dziwnego, że te codziennie zmieniające się krajobrazy  zainspirowały mnie do stworzenia nowej serii "Krajobrazów Kuchennych". They are small textile collages rather than quilts (although they are quilted and embroidered and beaded too). Would be perfect for book illustration, although I didn't find a book for them yet. That's why I decided to experiment with them in printed version. As I mentioned in previous post - printed landscapes are available HERE . The jungle is not translated into fabrics
