Winter is finished / Zima skończona

Image
... at least mine :) And yes, it's terrible to photograph it gracefully. So you have to believe me - it looks good (if I say so myself). And now just look through the pictures and let your imagination work :)   ...przynajmniej moja :) I oczywiście niemożliwością jest jakieś sensowne jej sfotografowanie. A teraz pooglądajcie zdjęcia i... pozwólcie popracować wyobraźni :)

Hot off the needle / Prosto spod igły

Image
This morning, while working on Etsy, I went through tons of images of blueberries . I'm a fruit gal, but blueberries are one of my most loved. And before I even noticed I was playing with my beads thinking about blueberry ideas. Dziś rano, pracując na Etsy, obejrzałam chyba tonę jagodowych rzeczy. Ja w ogóle jestem owocowa, ale jagody chyba kocham najbardziej. No i ani się obejrzałam, a już garść koralików uruchomiła we mnie różne jagodowe pomysły. This one with cream stayed a bit longer with me :) Ten ze śmietaną został ze mną na dłużej :) But, as we all know, the hardest part with blueberries is to collect them. To fullfil even medium jar takes some time. So what is the power of art if not to make our lives better? How about the tree of blueberries? Now you see wha

Botanical relax / Botaniczny relaks

Image
Oh well, when your to-do list becomes too long, you just have to put everything aside for a moment and... relax, right? That's what I did lately. I love botanical illustrations. They are constant inspiration for me and I use them for references in my works. And always have them handy. So it was my first choice for making something just for fun. Especially while having such beautiful linens for background :) Uwielbiam botaniczne ilustracje. Zwłaszcza, że miałam takie piękne lny na tło :) Here they are quilted: Tu już przepikowane: And here comes the plant: I teraz roślinka: A bit of handwork: Mały hafcik: A bit of beads: Parę k

Refreshing / Odświeżanie

Image
Yeap, it's this time of a year - Birthday time. This year I was surprised by unusual gift from my dearest ones - a short, refreshing trip! So maybe it is tough to be a queen (as my mother says) but sometimes it feels pretty good :) And yes, I managed to wash my winter landscape, just to discover that one part... doesn't work :( So I ripped it down. No to wyprułam to. Do you remember? The big blue flowers from the antique tea towel, covered with white embroidery stitches. After washing they looked so bad that I didn't dare to take a picture :) Pamiętacie?

More snow / Więcej śniegu

Image
As we received some great deal of snow lately, working on this piece makes sense to me again :) Duże opady śniegu w ostatnim czasie nadały znowu sens mojej pracy nad tym krajobrazem :) But, as you can see, taking pictures of it is rather a challenge. So you have to believe to my words - there ARE new additions. And I can't wait to wash it. Washing is always a big test for my ideas. It is after the washing when you can see if it all works. After so many hours in my hand the quilt is always very tired and washing is a relaxation for it. But there's still some more hours before it will see the water.

My village... / Moja wioska...

Image
... is global. And in fact, this is the second "Global Village". The first one was this: ... jest globalna. Pierwsza była ta: Many, many years ago, when I was starting in "quilting business" (read: learning about quilts, quilt history and quilt makers) I joined  a few discussion online groups. Those were the days... I met lots of great people (some of them became friends in real life too) and learned a lot. Thanks to American quilters I discovered the best fabric shops. And a lot of quilters has sent me their scraps. Thanks to internet we stayed connected on everyday basis. This first "Global Village" is the exact picture of this time - I felt like living in a small village, knowing every neibourgh, sewing with their fabrics. And connected by wires :) The size of this quiltlet is pretty small - 35 x 41 cms.

You're my inspiration / Inspirujecie mnie

Some of you may remember my Japanese friend, Debbie, who makes beautiful etegami cards . I'm a big fan of her works and avid reader of her blog. I can say that she is always in my kitchen because everyday I look at this little magnet from her :) And now, her nice comment under my previous post turned me on. Not so long ago, Debbie posted a picture of her home . I knew that she lives in mountains, on Hokkaido, with lots of snow. But somehow the picture surprised me. Why? Because I thought she lives differently, more like this: Być może niektórzy z Was pamiętają Debbie, moją japońską koleżankę, która robi prześliczne kartki etegami . Jestem fanką jej prac i zagorzałą czytelniczką blogu.
