The Textile Cuisine

So I'm back from my first teaching adventure. Oh my, it was FUN! I didn't suppose it may bring so many good things to me. First of all - people. Organizers created really creative and cozy atmosphere in Szkoła Patchworku and supplied with everything: from pencils through sewing machines, not to mention fabrics and threads. And students were simply wonderful. It feels pretty good to meet in real readers of my blog, admirers of my art who want to talk about it and learn from me. You know that I wanted to start from the small houses and I think it was a good choice. All of my students were pretty skilled in sewing so they had no technical difficulties and we were able to focus on the artsy side of their houses. Pierwsza lekcja za mną. I było fantastycznie! And my need for Spring appeared as a need for making something botanical. Yes, I know it is half of January but my flower isn't a common Spring flower. It is very special and you have to know its botanical name - Manypeeplia Upsidownia . Moja potrzeba wiosny objawiła się w postaci konieczności uszycia czegoś botanicznego. Tak, wiem, dopiero połowa stycznia, ale ten kwiatek nie jest takim zwykłym wiosennym kwiatkiem. To bardzo specjalny kwiatek i musicie poznać jego botaniczną nazwę - Manypeeplia Upsidownia (w wolnym przekładzie mógłby to być "wieloludzik szalony") . Hope the new year started great for you. For me it is lots of work but this means lots of fun too. As I'm preparing my first workshop , I'm rather focused. Who wouldn't like to live in a little village? Me :) I'm a city girl which doesn't mean that I don't like little villages - I love them! This new work is a proof. A oto dowód; Many years ago while coming from Germany we drove through some magic villages, with very specific architecture. I remembered the name of the area and some years later we went there to see more. Wiele lat temu, wracając z Niemiec przejeżdżaliśmy przez takie magiczne wioski, z bardzo specyficzną architekturą. Zapamiętałam nazwę tego regionu i kilka lat później pojechaliśmy tam, żeby zobaczyć więcej. You see what I mean? All the roofs look like knitted Nordic pullovers.
