Flowers bold and beautiful

Image
If you remember the colors of my fermented veggies from the previous post HERE you are not surprised by this: Frankly speaking, I started in small size - from coasters. They gave me this idea of bigger, simple, minimalist flowers for wall decor. And what started from a rose continued in... purple pansy: The next was daisy: They are fun to create. The longest part is design but when it is done the rest is just "pedal to the metal". Of course all the fraying is intentional and secure. All the flowers are in similar size (approx. 15in in diameter) and available in my Etsy shop . And that's how they look together: Bright and beautiful textile flower power. It might not be the end because... some tasteful, edible yellow roses came my way. Oh well, this inspiration stream has no end :)

Creative ferments smell like roses

Last summer I went crazy with fermenting veggies. It wasn't my first attempt to it but this time I started looking at them along the process. I like to try different combinations both for taste and... for the color. So the ideas for new textile works started to pop up. Yes, watching fermenting radish, zucchini and garlic made me to create roses. My main focus was on the background - hand dyed it myself to repeat this smokey rose hue. But wait, roses come in all colors, don't they? Yellow pepper, radish and turnip resulted in another roses' idea - this time "Colorful rose garden" was born. Both of these wall hangings are available for sale HERE , as I'm sure that more will follow. Actually I already have an idea for another rosy piece but this time it will be slightly different. Of course you don't think that my ferments are only for artistic inspiration, right? I really eat them in big quantities. And I make them all year round.

Autumnal roses / Jesienne róże

Image
That's my "End of Summer". Interesting? Yes, especially because of it's form :) Tak wygląda mój "Koniec lata". Ciekawy? Tak, głównie z uwagi na formę :) No, it's not an actual dress - it's an art quilt in the form of dress. Maybe it's a far away hello from my poet ? Nie, to nie jest prawdziwa sukienka - po prostu tkanina w kształcie sukienki. Może to jakieś pozdrowienie od mojej poetki ? And here is the back of the end of summer :) A tak wygląda tył końca lata: Looks like reversible :) And another detail: Właściwie można powiedzieć, że jest dwustronny :) I jeszcze jeden kawałek: And a companion textile bracelet :) A przy okazji bransoletka :) Autumn is here and I miss summer already. Just can't believe, that not so long ago I also worked on roses but in different palette: Jesień na całego, a ja już tęsknię za latem. I pomyśleć, że  nie tak dawno też szyłam róże, ale w zupełnie innych kolorach...
