The Textile Cuisine

  I know I'm quiet but I'm still busy. And, unfortunately, there's not much going on art wise. The big news is that my "Global Village" returned home after two years of travelling. Yes, I missed her :) Wiem, że straszna tu cisza, ale ciągle jestem bardzo zajęta.  I, niestety, niekoniecznie artystycznie. Jedyną większą nowinką, jest powrót mojej "Globalnej Wioski" po dwóch latach podróżowania, do domu. Tak, stęskniłam się za nią :)   And the small news is that I'm working on the new line of trees: A z mniejszych nowin to pracuję teraz nad nową serią drzew:   They will be in my shop but not yet. You are the first to see them. They are a bit bigger than the one in circles (9 x 12 cms) but still considered as small.  I have to tell you that the best part of being on etsy is meeting other artists and looking at their fantastic artwork. Well, new flowers, No dobrze, nowe kwiatki, and new white seeds i nowe, białe nasionka are pretty exciting but a bit too slowly. I needed something speedy... są pasjonujące, ale ciut za wolne. Potrzebowałam czegoś szybciutkiego... Virtual quilt, that's the remedy :) Pomógł wirtualny patchwork :)

Every year I make a Christmas tree. The idea is to hang the real piece at my home and to use an image of it for seasonal greeting cards. This allows me to share the same tree with the closest ones and all the friends and nice people I know. If you are here long enough you may remember the tree from last year . And 2 years ago I made this one: Co roku robię choinkę. Wieszam ją potem u nas w domu, a zdjęcia używam jako kartki świątecznej. Dzięki temu i rodzina i przyjaciele i znajomi, słowem wszyscy, dzielimy sie tym samym drzewkiem. Jeśli jesteście ze mną już dość długo to pewnie pamiętacie moje drzewko z ubiegłego roku . The most challenging part of this year festival is to get there. But I hope it will be just like on my banner - me shining through the mountains of snow. I mailed ornaments yesterday and now have to "mail" myself. I'm almost done - just a few small things (like some lacking sleeves on my works) and Poznan - here I come! This year I will have a small furniture to expose all the small things - hope it will work. Keep your fingers crossed and... see you next week! P.S. Janet, sewing doesn't make any harm to my nails, it is this cleaning/washing/cooking which is much more dangerous :)))) Największym wyzwaniem tegorocznego festiwalu będzie dotarcie tam. I know, I know, it was supposed to be a kitchen, not a woodyard. Sorry for that, but I'm sure you also do some strange things in your kitchens, right? My "things" aren't that strange - I just made a book :) And now I'm a happy posessor of this little treasure. I didn't write a single word there, just put together some of my works with trees. Since the titel - ARBORETUM. The main purpose for doing it was to have a nice, printed portfolio which is more portable than the works itself. And here is a small preview for your viewing pleasure. Getting ready for Festival requires some creativity too. So now I'm working on the banner :) Przygotowania do Festiwalu też wymagają pewnej kreatywności. Dlatego teraz pracuję nad banerem :) Of course all the small threads are not going to stay there, this is just "in the process" picture :) The real thing will be seen at my booth #227. And I didn't forget about my orchard - it is still growing: Oczywiście te drobne niteczki raczej na nim nie zostaną, to tylko zdjęcie "w trakcie" :) Na żywo będzie go można zobaczyć na moim stoisku #227. This is my old work inspired by Hildegard's vision. To moja stara praca inspirowana wizją Hildegardy . Of course what I liked in her vision the most were the trees. Oczywiście najbardziej w jej wizji zainteresowały mnie drzewa. Circle of life and all seasons, Cykl życia i zmiany pór roku, and permanent presence in globe's "scenography". i stała obecność w ziemskiej "scenografii". As for the new trees, yes, there's another one :) A jeśli chodzi o nowe drzewa, to owszem, mam jedno :)

Sorry, I would like to make a new post with some fresh news in it. But I can't help - I'm totally twisted on those small pieces. And now, as I have a few already, I started playing with them. Przykro mi, chciałabym zrobić nowy post z jakimś świeżym projektem. Ale nic nie poradzę - zakręciłam się na tych drobiazgach. A teraz, kiedy mam ich już kilka, zaczęłam się nimi bawić. You remember when I said "an orchard"... Pamiętacie, jak mówiłam "sad"... No, it's not my goal to cover the whole wall with them... But this could be great :) Nie, nie jest moim celem pokrycie całej ściany... Chociaż byłoby to cudowne :)

... keeps the melancholy away :) This one reminds me that the winter is coming. Which means that... ... i uśmiechasz się niezmiennie :) To drzewko przypomina mi, że niedługo zima. Co oznacza, że... ... if I want to be ready for Christmas I should start making cards right now! Seems a long time ahead? No, not at all. Taking the longevity of the process it is just last minute (usually I start in September) :) ... jeśli chcę być gotowa na Święta, powinnam zacząć robić kartki! Myślicie, że za wcześnie? Nie, wcale. Biorąc pod uwagę jak długo to trwa, to naprawdę ostatnia chwila (zazwyczaj zaczynam we wrześniu) :)

Yessss! But don't think that the idea of the trees in the circle is brand new to me. I was making something similar earlier too :) O tak! Ale nie myślcie, że ten pomysł z drzewami w kółku to jakieś nowe odkrycie. Robiłam już coś podobnego. Some of you may remember my old work "The Castle" with a border with similar trees. Niektórzy mogą pamiętać mój stary "Zamek" obramowany podobnymi drzewami. So the trees are neverending story for me, be prepared for more of them :) And it seems that my "Apples" are in the process again. Czyli drzewa to jednak dla mnie niekończąca się historia, przygotujcie się na więcej :) No i wygląda na to, że "Jabłka" są znowu w robocie.
