The Textile Cuisine

This morning, while working on Etsy, I went through tons of images of blueberries . I'm a fruit gal, but blueberries are one of my most loved. And before I even noticed I was playing with my beads thinking about blueberry ideas. Dziś rano, pracując na Etsy, obejrzałam chyba tonę jagodowych rzeczy. Ja w ogóle jestem owocowa, ale jagody chyba kocham najbardziej. No i ani się obejrzałam, a już garść koralików uruchomiła we mnie różne jagodowe pomysły. This one with cream stayed a bit longer with me :) Ten ze śmietaną został ze mną na dłużej :) But, as we all know, the hardest part with blueberries is to collect them. To fullfil even medium jar takes some time. So what is the power of art if not to make our lives better? How about the tree of blueberries? Wszyscy wiemy, że najgorsze w jagodach jest ich zbieranie. Yes, I know, It's been a long time....... Some of you already worried if I'm ok. Thanks for this, I'm fine (and a small flu I'm going through right now doesn't count), but I'm verrrrrry busy. Mostly with the teapots, hens and things like this. Wiem, wiem, trochę mnie nie było...... Niektórzy się nawet martwili, czy wszystko ze mną w porządku. Bardzo za to dziękuję, jestem cała i zdrowa (a to jesienne przeziębienie, które mnie właśnie dopadło, się nie liczy), ale baaaaaaardzo zajęta.  Głównie czajniczkami, kurami i takimi tam. So on Friday I took some time off and went to our beloved Central Museum of Textiles for the opening of new exhibition "Just fabric?", but in fact, I went there to take a breath of fresh air/art. ... this is an old Polish saying about the weather in March. And here goes the same - some more cabbage and some  transcendence...   ...to niby o pogodzie, ale tutaj tak samo - trochę kapusty, trochę transcendencji... And out of the blue I have to work on something totally different: I nagle, ni stąd ni zowąd, czuję, że muszę zrobić coś zupełnie innego: One day I just pulled some scraps and composed such a background. It is the best sign that the Spring is coming - I need to make something easy- breezy, colorful. I'm glad I can still find some not-showed-before stuff to keep you entertained. I'm now busy with last minute orders, making plans for a new year and trying to get ready for Christmas. But there are always some cards with Christmas trees :) Bardzo się cieszę, że ciągle mogę znaleźć jeszcze niepokazywane rzeczy, żeby dostarczyć Wam jakiejś rozrywki. Jestem teraz dość zajęta zamówieniami na ostatnią chwilę, robieniem planów na przyszły rok i szykowaniem się do Świąt. Ale zawsze są jeszcze jakieś kartki z choinkami :) I really like to make them and I know that they bring lots of joy to people, that's a big pleasure. I like to work on this tree. It is sort of meditative. Especially when the weather cooperates - the outside world is totally white here. And it turned out that after the festival I'm in the selling mood. So I took all my courage and started my very own etsy shop :) I'm just a beginner but I have some plans for development. Keep your fingers crossed! Dobrze mi się pracuje nad tym drzewkiem. Taka medytacyjna robótka. Zwłaszcza gdy pogoda sprzyja - na zewnątrz totalna biel. Ale okazuje się, że po festiwalu złapałam też "sprzedażowy" nastrój. No to wzięłam na odwagę i otworzyłam własny etsy sklepik :) To dopiero początki, ale mam już plany dalszego rozwoju. Every year I make a Christmas tree. The idea is to hang the real piece at my home and to use an image of it for seasonal greeting cards. This allows me to share the same tree with the closest ones and all the friends and nice people I know. If you are here long enough you may remember the tree from last year . And 2 years ago I made this one: Co roku robię choinkę. Wieszam ją potem u nas w domu, a zdjęcia używam jako kartki świątecznej. Dzięki temu i rodzina i przyjaciele i znajomi, słowem wszyscy, dzielimy sie tym samym drzewkiem. Jeśli jesteście ze mną już dość długo to pewnie pamiętacie moje drzewko z ubiegłego roku . The most challenging part of this year festival is to get there. But I hope it will be just like on my banner - me shining through the mountains of snow. I mailed ornaments yesterday and now have to "mail" myself. I'm almost done - just a few small things (like some lacking sleeves on my works) and Poznan - here I come! This year I will have a small furniture to expose all the small things - hope it will work. Keep your fingers crossed and... see you next week! P.S. ... keeps the melancholy away :) This one reminds me that the winter is coming. Which means that... ... i uśmiechasz się niezmiennie :) To drzewko przypomina mi, że niedługo zima. Co oznacza, że... ... if I want to be ready for Christmas I should start making cards right now! Seems a long time ahead? No, not at all. Taking the longevity of the process it is just last minute (usually I start in September) :) ... jeśli chcę być gotowa na Święta, powinnam zacząć robić kartki! Myślicie, że za wcześnie? Nie, wcale. Biorąc pod uwagę jak długo to trwa, to naprawdę ostatnia chwila (zazwyczaj zaczynam we wrześniu) :)

As you can see, eggs' decoration is slowly going along. But the more I'm thinking about eggs the more new ideas come to my mind. Sometimes I feel like in the Medieval Egg Dance - dancing among the eggs laid on the floor and trying to damage as few as possible. Jak widzicie dekoracja jaj powoli postępuje. Ale im więcej o jajach myślę, tym więcej nowych pomysłów przychodzi mi do głowy. Czasami czuję się jak w tym średniowiecznym Tańcu Jaj - tańcząc wśród jaj leżących na podłodze i starając się żadnego nie uszkodzić. So I started a small project, with eggs but this time not painted. Unfortunately the side effect of this project is another group of... painted eggs :) It would be a pity to waste them so I catched them into the card :) No więc zaczęłam taki mały projekt, z jajami, ale tym razem niemalowanymi. Niestety, efektem ubocznym tego projektu jest kolejna grupa... malowanych jaj. Szkoda było ich zmarnować, więc uszyłam z nich kartkę :) This time I put it into the frame. I

Everybody knows that eggs are very nourishing, but did you know that they can be also flexible? Wszyscy wiedzą, że jaja są bardzo pożywne, ale czy wiedzieliście, że mogą być także elastyczne? Maybe not all of them, but Salvador Dali's are. He had this "egg" thing, they are everywhere in his art. He even painted ones with the carrot :) No wonder his museum in Figueres is decorated with eggs. Może nie wszystkie, ale te Salvadora Dali na pewno. Miał coś na jaja, są permanentnie obecne w jego sztuce. Nawet namalował jaja z marchewką :) Nic dziwnego, że jego muzeum w Figueres udekorowano jajami. Ok, but let's left the big names and come to my eggs. This year they are going to be striped. No dobrze, ale zostawmy wielkie nazwiska i przejdźmy do moich jaj. W tym roku będą pasiaste.
